There has been some recent confusion in the industry regarding blank-firing weapons and the considerable amount of blank ammunition available for use.
There are generally two types of blank ammunition used in the entertainment industry:
1. FIREARM BLANKS - Blank ammunition manufactured using industry approved powders, brass and primer components for motion picture, law enforcement and military clients.
2. STAGE BLANKS - Blank ammunition manufactured outside of the United States for use in imported Zinc-alloy stage prop firearms. Common calibers include 8mm, 9mm, 9mm PAK, 9mm RK and .380CAL. These are shorter in overall length than a industry blank cartridge and are commonly referred to as “Stage Blanks”. These should NEVER be interchanged with the more common blank ammunition used in REAL, MODIFIED blank-firing weaponry.
We carry BOTH lines of blanks—so to ensure you receive the correct cartridge for your prop firearm, please discuss your needs and inspect the intended prop firearm for inscriptions denoting the correct caliber. This will assist us in accurately and SAFELY supplying your blank ammunition needs to save time and money.
IMPORTANT NOTE TO CONSIDER: When purchasing a less expensive STAGE BLANK firearm, realize your blank ammo options concerning noise levels are very limited. The blank ammo is typically imported and Full load and EXTRA LOUD blanks are sometimes the only option.
